At Dinolt Becnel & Wells Investigative Group LLC, we use a two-tiered rate structure for partners and associate investigators. Some cases call for the two decades of cumulative experience that our partners offer, while others can be completed more cost-effectively by one of our licensed private investigator associates. For those services that require a significant level of expertise (for example, fraud examinations or criminal interrogations), a partner investigator will be assigned. A partner investigator will also direct and review the work product of associate investigators.
All of our partner investigators are fully licensed private investigators in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Ben Dinolt is also a licensed private investigator in California, where he maintains the firm's San Francisco office. All of our associate investigators are licensed private investigators in any jurisdiction where they work.
We base our estimates on such factors as the time and complexity of the investigation and the likelihood that we will be called upon to provide testimony concerning the investigation. We pass through (without markup) some reasonable costs, including database usage and mileage allowances.
To avoid conflicts of interest and unnecessary collections costs, we require all non-repeat clients to sign a retainer agreement and pay upfront for the total amount of the estimate. For law firms and insurance companies that make up a significant portion of our business through their continued patronage, we may occasionally negotiate our standard rates with a markdown at a fixed percentage.
Regardless of who is assigned or the rate we charge for a particular task, Dinolt Becnel & Wells Investigative Group LLC operates as a cohesive team dedicated to uncovering the facts of your case in a prompt, ethical and professional manner.
